International calls from the Middle East

What we mean by an International call?

Whenever a person goes out of country or migrates to another country either for taking up a job project or business, they have to keep in touch with their loved ones back in their home country. There are different plans of making International calls. Let’s discuss few of them:

Daily Discounts – In the Middle East, where I was located, I used to make calls from my registered mobile phone during the lunch time between 2pm to 4pm. The reason is that during this period, the call rates had a whooping 35% discount than during peak hours. Simultaneously, calls made after 9pm until 7am the next day, had a 35% discount.

Festive Promotions – During the Ramadan month, which comes somewhere during the month of September, October or November, the whole month or in simple words 30 days, the international call charges come with 35% discount, thus allowing you to call your family and friends at any time during the day and night without restricting yourself to wait for the off-peak calling hour to come.

Weekly Promotions – In the Middle East, unlike the rest of the world, Friday is considered as a public holiday and Saturday becomes the first working day of the week. Hence, every Friday, the call charges are always discounted that is 35% cheaper as compared to other days. Similarly, for the rest of the world, the international call rates will be discounted on Sundays.

Public Holidays – During public holidays such as Labor Day or New Year or National day of that country, the international call rates are discounted at 35% less than the actual call charges.

Family & friends plan – Many service providers allow the users to have 2 special numbers which we often keep calling as a permanent family/ friends plan. Once we register to this plan, no matter what time of the day you are calling, you will always benefit with discount rates of 35% (depending upon the service provider in your area) for these 2 special numbers.

Conclusion

It is not only the Middle East, even in your country where you live, though you might have not traveled out of your country, if your relatives or family members are staying in a different country, you are bound to make an International call to them.

It is always advisable to check on the plan & special promotions with the service provider inorder to get discounted calls. Today, many of the individuals depend on International calling cards, but you must remember that these cards are not always available.

Most of the cards are not recognized by the TRA (Telephone Regulatory Authority) and if caught, the user can be fined for using unauthorized cards. Thus, making calls from your registered mobile or landlines having attractive discount plans for making International calls is the best option.
