How to use web phone?
Using IP telephony is pretty simple. You will need to sign up with and download the appropriate software from an array of VoIP service providers. Depending on your provider’s network you can call over 250 countries worldwide at 1.9 or 2.9 cents a minute. The webphone software allows you to call on any phone such as landlines, mobile and VoIP phones such as Skype numbers and you can also call other users absolutely free. Downloading the software is also quite simple. You will first need to sign up a form with basic details and choose your unique user-id and PIN number. The software download is free of cost. However most software runs well only with Window PCs which there are some that can be supported on Mac. You may want to confirm before downloading. Once the software is downloaded an icon is placed on your desktop. While SIP to SIP call are free to make calls to mobile or other phones you will need to pay a certain amount in advance which can be generally done through a credit card. The software allows you to open an account where your credited amount and balance will be displayed after each call. To make the call you will have to open the service provider’s dialer (icon), before which you should confirm that you are connected to Internet. Then type the destinations phone number along with the international code or select one from your list of contacts and press the “dial” symbol displayed on the window. And lo behold, you will be connected immediately. The person you have call to need not have a PC or Internet connection (unless u r calling them on the web phone), any working telephone line is sufficient. The normal charges for any call – local or international would be between $0.019 (1.9 cents) to $0.029. Similarly when you receive a call, you can see a pop-up message displaying the number you are being called from. You may either accept it or decline it by clicking on the two options shown active on the web phone window. You will not be deducted any money for receiving calls.

The basic requirements for Web2Phone calls are: - PC with Pentium 200MHz processor - Windows 98 or above - Internet bandwidth of 33.6 Kbps or better - 128 MB RAM - Full-duplex sound card You will also need a microphone, a headset, and speakers.
